The project pursued two objectives: to give the exterior a sign of novelty to highlight the new activity and to
rationalize the large interior space
.
For the facade, we thought of a cladding capable of “vibrating” with changing light conditions. To achieve this effect, we used corten sheet metal “ashlar effect” cladding.
The protrusions cause strong shadows to draw the facade and change in shape and inclination as the sun’s rays change. At night, however, it was chosen to illuminate the facade by inserting some LED floodlights with programmed
color-changing microprocessor
.
The area for the sale of electrical equipment did not require any reorganization, while the area intended for the display of lighting technology was presented as a single empty volume, a large sloping ceiling was designed that, by
“measuring” the space
, perceptively brings the bottom of the hall, where the sales counter is located, closer.
On either side of the entrance are two sloping walls with splayed finials, painted Indian red. These walls welcome the visitor by creating an additional atrium.
