ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT: Gnosis Progetti
Status: accomplished

The area subject to the intervention presented itself as a space without identity: the homogeneity of the colors and finishes not only made the environment flat, but also did not make it easier for travelers to orient themselves within the airport area, without an adequate departure information system. The only element that identified the space is a central light well characterized by a glass drum. We believed that this element could become a characteristic component of the square and deserved greater notoriety from passengers passing through the terminal.
The restyling of the square Schengen flight departures involves the replacement of the old lighting system with a new system which, in addition to fulfilling the its primary lighting function acts as a system capable of directing passengers; the lighting fixtures are all directed towards the central drum and then go back inside where the advertising and flight information LED walls are positioned. The solutions adopted will allow immediate and clear identifiability of the area and the fluidity of the lines and surfaces proposed will give the entire environment an aspect of flexibility and originality spaces.
Generally speaking, the project involves:
– The replacement of the lighting system with new linear and curved lighting fixtures, to be installed on the existing false ceiling;
– A new system of flight info and advertising through the installation of n. 8 monitors inscribed inside the central drum;
– Characterization of the lower perimeter crown with a wooden false ceiling.
– Delimitation of the upper crown of the drum with green pendant Piazza Obikà
